10 tips for reading

In the conditions of active urban life, few people manage to organize ideal conditions for reading, but I will still describe them here to determine what is worth striving for.

Reading tips:

1. Get yourself a favourite place to read. You can choose different places for different texts: for example, professional literature can be read at the table, and fiction can be read in an armchair or on the sofa.

2. Relax and calm down: unnecessary gestures distract. Also, do not combine reading with eating and drinking.

3. The text should be well lit. It is advisable to use an additional light source for this. If you are right-handed, install the lamp on the left, if left-handed, then on the right.

4. Place the book at a distance of 35-40 cm from the eyes. It is best to keep it tilted so that all lines are equidistant. It is good to use a book stand or other support. If you are holding a book in your hands, try to relax them as much as possible.

5. Prefer paper books to electronic devices, despite the fact that it is so out of date. The resolution of the text printed on paper is several times higher.

6. Avoid reading on the road. During the movement, the vibration from the transport is transmitted to the book, and the eyes get more tired. If you feel sorry to waste time in traffic jams, give preference to audiobooks.

7. Read in silence: unnecessary sounds inevitably take away part of your attention, since the human brain is not sharpened for multitasking.

8. Train yourself to read in the same, most comfortable position. Modern scientists recommend sitting at an angle of 135 degrees, leaning your back on support, opening your chest and putting your feet on the floor. It is best to sit in a comfortable chair, not on a hard chair and, if necessary, put pillows and cushions. The main thing is that it doesn't look like this.

9. Pay attention that the neck does not stretch forward while reading. The pose should be symmetrical: without skewing to the right or to the left.

10. Take logical breaks at least once an hour. Get up, pour yourself a glass of water, eat fruit, do eye exercises, think about what you've read.

Watchmen- the first comic book I read

Watchmen   by   Ann Plzz   is licensed under a   Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License . Based on a work at   https://flic.kr/p/2mBTj4u . For a long time, I was cold to the comics themselves, although I really liked watching them being adapted on big screens in the form of films or cartoons. In 2009, director Zack Snyder released his film "Watchmen", which was based on a comic book of the same name. The film hooked me and I watched it more than once later. Once I was intrigued by a phrase, the essence of which was that the film, first of all, is good because of the original source, that is the comic book. I was fired up with the idea of reading a comic book, but apparently, I didn't catch fire so much, because I read my first comic book only this year. But I will not continue to call the "Watchmen" a comic book. I've seen comics on bookstalls and most of them are mediocre stories with equally mediocre illustrations. "Watchmen" is s...

Russian literature (1)

I have had a love for russian literature since childhood, since my father loves to read, my grandfather has a huge library. Russian literature is quite rich, and the love of reading is a certain trait of russian people. Many people abroad know who Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Bulgakov are. For the first time in my blog, I will tell you about my favourite Russian writers and where to start if you want to get acquainted with russian literature. Mikhail Bulgakov "The Master and Margarita" One of the most mysterious and amazing novels of the XX century. The novel "The Master and Margarita" is the business card of Mikhail Bulgakov. For more than ten years, he worked on the book that became his destiny novel, a testament novel. In "The Master and Margarita" there is everything: cheerful mischief and aching sadness, romantic love and witchcraft obsession, magical mystery and reckless play with evil spirits. Mikhail Sholokhov "And Quiet Flows the Don" Mikhai...
