Have time to read before these 6 film adaptations come out!

Where can I get a few more hours a day to have time to read everything I want? There is not enough time to get acquainted with all potentially interesting works. That's why, when I find out that any book worthy of my attention will soon be screened, I try to include it in the priority reading list. In this case, the impression will be received from a literary source, and not from the talent of cinematographers.

I have compiled a list of 8 books for you, the film adaptation of which is expected in the near future so that you too can make the necessary adjustments to your reading plans in time.

"There's Someone Inside Your House"
Stephanie Perkins

High school student Makani Young thinks that moving will help to forget about the secrets of the past and move on. The girl meets her classmates, but shortly before graduation, someone opens a hunt for her new acquaintances. There are more and more victims. Tension builds up, and Makani decides to deal with what is happening, and not reveal a terrible secret at the same time.

Netflix took over the adaptation of the youth bestseller- 2017. The premiere will take place on October 6. The main female role went to Sydney Park, which previously could be seen in "The Walking Dead".

"The Sympathizer" Viet Thanh Nguyen

The Vietnam War is nearing its end. A secret agent of French-Vietnamese origin is playing a dangerous double game, working for both Americans and Communists. However, soon the spy is exposed, and he becomes a political prisoner.

Viet Thanh Nguyen's debut novel, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 2016, is being adapted for the HBO series. The director's chair went to Park Chang-Wook. The writer admitted that this is the best candidate for the film adaptation of his novel. Robert Downey Jr. stands out among the cast.

"A Head Full of Ghosts" Paul G. Tremblay

Parents are trying to cure their daughter Marjorie of schizophrenia. Traditional medicine does not help, and then they resort to an alternative option. The invited priest offers to perform an exorcism on the air. However, 15 years after the terrible events, Marjorie's younger sister talks about what was not shown in the reality show.

The novel that scared Stephen King, and won the 2015 Bram Stoker Award, is being adapted by director Scott Cooper. Margaret Qually was invited to the main role.

"Malorie" Josh Malerman

The second book of the series "Bird Box" continues the story of the fate of Malorie and her children, fleeing in a world filled with ruthless creatures. 12 years have passed since the dangerous journey, the finale of which was the settlement in a school for the blind together with a group of other survivors, but one can only dream of peace.

Netflix has taken over the film adaptation, and it is already known that the same team that created the horror "Bird Box" (2018) based on the first book of the cycle will work on the film. I highly recommend it for viewing.

"City of Ghosts" Victoria Schwab

After the accident, Cassidy Blake discovered a paranormal talent. The girl not only sees ghosts, but also communicates with them, and one of the disembodied spirits becomes her best friend. Cassidy's parents "work" as ghostbusters. They take their daughter with them to mystical Edinburgh, which leads to unexpected consequences.

The film adaptation was directed by David Lowry, and Gerard Butler, known as a "law-abiding citizen", acted as an executive producer of the multi-part project.

"Priest of Bones" Peter McLean

Thomas Piety returns from the war and realizes that during his absence, his former gang "The Pious Men" has lost influence. The ruined city is ruled by outsiders, but they do not know that the bone chaplain is ready to regain power with a sword in his hands.

NBC Universal and the Heyday Television studio took over the adaptation of the dark fantasy in the medieval entourage. The author of the literary source does not deny that his books may resemble "Sharp visors" and "The Godfather", however, details about the director of the project and the actors have not yet been reported.

Which books from this post would you like to read before the film adaptation?

Comments

  1. Wow -- super interesting list of titles and it's exciting that they are all made into films! I think the one I'd most like to read is "City of Ghosts." And the one I'm certain I will never want to read/watch -- because it sounds absolutely terrifying and nightmare-inducing -- is "A Head Full of Ghosts" !

Watchmen- the first comic book I read

Watchmen   by   Ann Plzz   is licensed under a   Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License . Based on a work at   https://flic.kr/p/2mBTj4u . For a long time, I was cold to the comics themselves, although I really liked watching them being adapted on big screens in the form of films or cartoons. In 2009, director Zack Snyder released his film "Watchmen", which was based on a comic book of the same name. The film hooked me and I watched it more than once later. Once I was intrigued by a phrase, the essence of which was that the film, first of all, is good because of the original source, that is the comic book. I was fired up with the idea of reading a comic book, but apparently, I didn't catch fire so much, because I read my first comic book only this year. But I will not continue to call the "Watchmen" a comic book. I've seen comics on bookstalls and most of them are mediocre stories with equally mediocre illustrations. "Watchmen" is s...

Russian literature (1)

I have had a love for russian literature since childhood, since my father loves to read, my grandfather has a huge library. Russian literature is quite rich, and the love of reading is a certain trait of russian people. Many people abroad know who Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Bulgakov are. For the first time in my blog, I will tell you about my favourite Russian writers and where to start if you want to get acquainted with russian literature. Mikhail Bulgakov "The Master and Margarita" One of the most mysterious and amazing novels of the XX century. The novel "The Master and Margarita" is the business card of Mikhail Bulgakov. For more than ten years, he worked on the book that became his destiny novel, a testament novel. In "The Master and Margarita" there is everything: cheerful mischief and aching sadness, romantic love and witchcraft obsession, magical mystery and reckless play with evil spirits. Mikhail Sholokhov "And Quiet Flows the Don" Mikhai...
